Jos Wijnen has been a songwriter since the 1970`s. However, it lasted till 2005 before he released his first songs. The EP “Autumn Outtakes, things to come” was a glimpse of what was about to come, as the subtitle did suggest. And in spring 2008 his debutalbum “Honeysuckle Sweets” was (self-)released. Recorded in the Wild Age Studio of Martin van de Vrugt in Deventer, Holland.

“Honeysuckle Sweets” shows the outcome of the creative coöperation between instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Martin and the singer, guitarplayer and songwriter Jos Wijnen aka Zjos.

“Martin understood (I think mostly with his intuïtion) what I was looking for and together with the magnificent voice of Jolanda Peters and the meandering accordeon of Han Kooistra, the songs started to grow to “Honeysuckle Sweets”. Theo Duijker plays the drums on a few songs and Martin bass, leadguitar, steelguitar, banjo, mandolin and Turkish ut.

With “Honeysuckle Sweets Jos Wijnen makes his debut in the crowded Americana-area, but the way in which the songs are created and produced, they testify to be of an authentic approach.
